Atherton's Diane Kelvie wins $10,000
(May 26, 2004) Diane Kelvie of Atherton says she's never won anything before. Now she's $10,000 richer after Coldwell Banker president Avram Goldman presented with her with a check on May 24 at a special breakfast in her honor at the firm's Woodside office.
For the past four years, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has held a cash giveaway twice a year awarding a Northern California client $10,000. Ms. Kelvie was on Woodside agent Bob Jenkins' mailing list, although she has lived in her home for almost 20 years and has no plans to move.
"I always read the real estate mailings and thought 'Why not send in my name?'" she says. Mr. Jenkins called to tell her the good news only a couple of weeks after she had responded.
Ms. Kelvie and her husband, Patrick, have three children: Kathleen, a student at UC Davis, and twins, Chris and Lindsay. Chris attends Hillview School and Lindsay attends Castilleja. She works part-time as an accountant in Foster City.
Since they recently remodeled their kitchen, Ms. Kelvie is thinking about using a portion of her winnings for a new kitchen table and chairs.
