Interior designer joins Flegel's

Zara Stender of Redwood Shores has joined Flegel's Home Furnishings in Menlo Park as an interior designer.

Ms. Stender is president of the Northern California chapter of the Interior Design Society. She is the winner of three Bay Area design awards and the author of two books on design and color. Her areas of specialty are color and design for the "Wine Country lifestyle," according to her publicist.

She studied art at the Atlanta School of Art and at the University of California at Los Angeles before receiving a degree in interior design at Canada College. She recently achieved certified interior designer (CID) status in California. Ms. Stender has worked independently as a designer and was previously associated with Ethan Allen in San Mateo.

Flegel's Home Furnishings Inc. has a staff of 10 interior designers and is located at 870 Santa Cruz Ave. in downtown Menlo Park.


Coldwell Banker agent gets broker's license

Bob Jenkins of Atherton, an agent in the Woodside office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, has received his real estate broker's license, the firm announced.

A Harvard graduate and a former officer in the Marine Corps, Mr. Jenkins has lived for 25 years in Atherton, where he is on the board of directors of the Atherton Civic Interest League, a community group that all Atherton residents can join.

Since 1996, Mr. Jenkins has been affiliated with Coldwell Banker's Woodside office, located at 2969 Woodside Road, said office manager Bill Lewis.

Mr. Jenkins focuses on properties in Atherton, Portola Valley and Woodside, and has participated in residential real estate transactions of $29 million and $22 million, Mr. Lewis said.
