This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Menlo Park
Spousal abuse: A resident of the 1300 block of Carlton Avenue reported a spousal abuse incident on May 24.
Hit and run: A person reported being witness to a hit and run near the intersection of Willow Road and U.S. 101 on May 25.
Grand theft: Computer stolen from office, Belle Haven School, May 21. Items stolen from construction site, 1600 block of Rutgers Street in East Palo Alto, May 24. Items stolen, M-A High School, May 25.
Fraud: Credit card fraud, 800 block of Partridge Avenue, May 25. Counterfeit cash passed, 700 block of El Camino Real, May 26.
Vandalism: Belle Haven School vandalized, May 24. Vehicle vandalized in parking lot, 1300 block of Willow Road, May 26. Parking gate damaged, 1100 block of Elder Avenue, May 27.
Burglary: Projector stolen from locked office, 1600 block of Adams Drive, May 27.
Vehicle thefts: Vehicle stolen from the 1000 block of Ringwood Avenue, May 22.
Woodside
Assault: A resident of the 400 block of Mountain Home Road reported on May 18 that her daughter punched her multiple times in the arm.
Fire: Someone tried to explode two small propane tanks in parking lot No. 8 of Canada College. Police allowed the small fire that was created to burn itself out. Nobody was injured and the only property damage consisted of smoke stains to the parking lot surface.
Grand theft: Someone stole mail from a residence in the first block of Why Worry Lane on May 8.
Burglary:
** Someone reported on May 17 that someone stole cash from an office at Canada College.
** Someone reported on May 19 that someone stole cash from a locked safe at Canada College.
** Kenneth D. Mankin, 44, of San Mateo was arrested on burglary charges on May 22 after police say he put 20 bottles of liquor in a shopping cart, covered the liquor with his coat and walked out of a store in the 3000 block of Woodside Road without paying.
Portola Valley
Medical call: A gardener apparently died of a heart attack at a residence in the first block of Larguita Lane on May 20.
West Menlo Park
Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 900 block of Cloud Avenue through an unlocked rear window on May 21 and stole a musical instrument, camera equipment, and home audio items.
Ladera
Fraud: A resident of the 300 block of La Mesa Drive reported on May 21 that someone else used the resident's personal information to open checking and savings accounts.
