Teens win U.S. Pony Club show events
(June 02, 2004) Christina Tabacco of Portola Valley and Anna Medina of Redwood City won in the upper-level division of the Mid-California U.S. Pony Club show jumping rally held May 15-16 in the Horse Park in Woodside.
Christina, 15, is a freshman at the Woodside Priory in Portola Valley. Her horse, Imagine That, earned several penalties from dislodged rails in the stadium jumping, but not enough to detract from her overall performance.
Anna, 13, turned in three perfect performances on her mount, Mr. Stryder, with only a minor time fault.
A Pony Club rally is a competition where teams of riders compete against each other.
The May 15-16 rally featured area jumping, attracting 15 teams from as far away as Fresno.
The Portola Valley Pony Club is based at the Horse Park in Woodside, where it offers lessons in horsemanship.
