Morrow murder trial put off Morrow murder trial put off (June 23, 2004)

The murder trial for Joseph Morrow, a former Menlo Park resident accused of killing his wife, Donna Morrow, in 1991, has been postponed to October 4, said prosecutor Jack Grandsaert. The trial was scheduled to begin June 28.

Mr. Morrow's defense attorney requested the later date because he needs more time to prepare for the trial, he said in a motion filed with the court June 8.

Mr. Morrow, who told police his wife walked out of the house shortly before Christmas, is accused of killing Mrs. Morrow at their College Avenue home and burying her body on undeveloped property he owned in Los Gatos.

He subsequently fled the country and was arrested at his home in the Philippines on passport fraud charges in January 2003. Mrs. Morrow's body was discovered in September 2003.
