Menlo Park man killed in shooting incident
(July 07, 2004) Carlos Manuel Ramos Jr., 28, of Menlo Park died Thursday, July 1, at 2212 Ralmar Ave. in East Palo Alto, the victim of a homicide, said Lt. Lisa Williams of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses reported hearing gun shots within the residence and, shortly thereafter, seeing three Hispanic males running away, Lt. Williams said. Emergency medical technicians from the Menlo Park Fire Protection District were called to the scene and pronounced Mr. Ramos dead.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown by the Almanac press time on Friday, July 2. Mr. Ramos worked as a cab driver, but his occupation does not appear to be connected with this incident, Lt. Williams said.
Officers from the East Palo Alto Police Department and Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information may call the Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.
