The deadline for filing arguments for and against local ballot measures in the November election is 5 p.m. Friday, August 13, said Warren Slocum, the chief elections officer in San Mateo County. Argument rebuttals are due 10 days later at 5 p.m. Monday, August 23. On the ballot this year are a 25-year renewal of Measure A, the half-cent sales tax earmarked for transportation projects; a $70 million construction bond measure for the Sequoia high school district; and a special parcel tax in Atherton.
