For some young riders in the Woodside Fire Protection District, the equestrian event of the season wasn't the Olympics, but the Woodside Junior Riders Horse Show on August 21.

Some 60 boys and girls competed in 13 classes at the John Kiely Equestrian Center on Tripp Road in Woodside. The show marked the end of their summer riding program.

Here are the top three finishers in each class:

** Advanced Jumping: Tenley Breen, Lili Pike and Cameron Carr; Intermediate Jumping I: Alex Afzal, Emma Southgate and Lily Shanahan; Intermediate Jumping II: Trevor Nibbi, Sarah Sawyer and Logan Pike; and Novice Jumping: Lexi Phillips, Christine Flock and Nicole Dancer.

** Hunter Hack: Nicolette Kellenberger, Emily Hornberger and Justine Furhman; Lead Line (all participants won a blue ribbon): Nicole Musser, Jerry Furhman, Kyla Cagan, Abbey Vixie, Patrick Dancer, Teagan Nibbi, Evan Sawyer and Celeste Stoker; and Advance Equitation: Tenley Breen, Rosie Breen and Amanda Swent.

** Intermediate Equitation I: Alex Afzal, Lily Shanahan and Claudia Kelley; Intermediate Equitation II: Logan Pike, Sarah Sawyer and Trevor Nibbi; and Novice Equitation: Christine Flock, Delaney Steele and Cheyenne Robinson.

** Walt/Trot/Beginning Canter: Sadie Foti, Alicia Vixie and Michelle Ahern; Walk/Trot I: Samantha Corso, Teda Knauth and Cole Alves; and Walk/Trot II: Merilee Raynor, Chloe Steck and Thomas Martin.
