Cross country coach named
(September 01, 2004) James Torres, the Menlo College assistant wrestling coach, has been named the new Menlo College head cross country coach, said Caitlin Collier, director of athletics.
As assistant wrestling coach, Torres helped the team win their first Western Region championship in 2004, and helped coach 18 All-Americans and two national champions: James Guizar and Saul Lucatero, said Sports Information Director Nicholas Enriquez.
Torres graduated in 2000 from Indiana University with a degree in social and behavioral sciences, and was a four-year letterman and two-year team captain of the Indiana wrestling team. He is now working on a master's degree in kinesiology from St. Mary's College.
