Menlo council meeting canceled
The Menlo Park City Council will not meet on Tuesday, September 7, the day after Labor Day. Regular meetings will resume the following Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at 801 Laurel St.
Campaign corner
Labor Day weekend wasn't exactly a time of rest for the four candidates for the Menlo Park City Council.
Kelly Fergusson, a civil engineer and city planning commissioner, planned her campaign's kick-off for Labor Day at the home of residents Heyward Robinson and Joanna Mountain, complete with a bluegrass band.
Meanwhile, fellow planning commissioner Lorie Sinnott, chief financial officer in her husband's architecture and construction firm, got her precinct-walking officially underway on Saturday, with supporters meeting at her Rose Avenue home.
Architect Michael Lambert and his backers were also busy knocking on doors to get the campaign up and running, campaign manager Mary Gilles said.
And retired judge and lawyer Andrew Cohen has said he's working with "old clients and old friends" to help spread the word about his candidacy.
