Three years after the 2001 terrorist attacks, a remembrance ceremony will be held at the Menlo Park Fire Protection District headquarters at 300 Middlefield Road in Menlo Park.

The event will honor the men and women who lost their lives, along with those who labored to save them.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 10.

Starting at 9 a.m., it will include reflections by chaplains Dominick Peloso and Jacqueline Clark, the ringing of a remembrance bell, and remarks by Menlo Park Fire Division Chief Harold Schapelhouman, who led a search-and-rescue task force at the World Trade Center towers.

Members of the search and rescue team will also be recognized.
