A new reader is born at Belle Haven Library
(September 22, 2004) The following information was published with a photograph in the Almanac's print edition:
At the grand old age of 23 months, Josue Hernandez has already developed an abiding attachment to books. Like the crowds of other children who attended the Belle Haven Library's fifth birthday party on August 5, he was given a free book -- and then didn't want to let it go, librarians said. The party, held at the library at 415 Ivy Drive in Menlo Park, also had music, refreshments, a raffle, balloon animals and a belly dancer.
