Bluewater grill to re-open as Henry's Prime Bluewater grill to re-open as Henry's Prime (October 27, 2004)

The Bluewater Grill restaurant in Menlo Park, closed for remodeling since October 24, is expected to reopen in mid-November as Henry's Prime.

"After 22 months we felt the demand for a seafood-only restaurant was just not there in Menlo Park," said Bluewater Grill co-owner Jim Ulcickas of Southern California. When the restaurant at 888 El Camino Real opens its doors again, it will feature steak and seafood, he said.

The seafood restaurant opened in February 2003 to lackluster reviews. The grill was the first Northern California venture of Mr. Ulcickas and his partner, Rick Staunton.

They opened the first Bluewater Grill in 1996 in Newport Beach, and later opened restaurants at South Coast Plaza Village and Redondo Beach.

Bluewater Grill's manager, Mark Griffis, said his customers have indicated a steak house would be well-received and would have wider appeal.

Bluewater Grill is the second fish house to close at 888 El Camino Real, once the site of Ken's Pancake House. Its predecessor, 3 Fish, folded in 2002 after a short run.

On the other hand, the Fish Market in Palo Alto is celebrating its 28th anniversary as the flagship for four Bay Area restaurants, four in Southern California and one in Phoenix.
