Armed robbery at local market Armed robbery at local market (October 27, 2004)

Police are looking for two armed and masked men who robbed a Willow Avenue market of $1,100 in cash on Friday evening and fled in a waiting maroon sedan, said Sgt. Paul Kunkel of the Menlo Park Police Department.

Employees of the La Michoacana Market alerted the police to the robbery at about 8:45 p.m. October 22, said Sgt. Kunkel. No one was hurt and the store was empty of customers at the time of the robbery, police said.

The robbers were described as tall black men with average builds and in their early 20s. Both carried hand guns and wore white bandanas across their faces, said Sgt. Kunkel. The driver of the get-away car was also black, police said.

Witnesses or anyone with more information should call 330-6300.
