Around Town: Hardbacks for a buck at Woodside book sale
(October 27, 2004) The early bookworm gets the great finds at the upcoming used book sale at Woodside Library. Come to the parking lot on Saturday, November 6, at 10 a.m., right when the sale starts, and you will have an excellent opportunity to pick up special collections, such as a 20-volume set called the "Nobel Prize Library."
Other hardbacks, CDs and videos sell for $1 each. Paperbacks, audiotapes and records sell for 25 cents each. Refreshments will be served until the sale ends at 4 p.m. The library is located at 3140 Woodside Road, Woodside.
Authors' luncheon set for Nov. 6
Rosemary Enthoven of Atherton is honorary chairman for the 13th authors' luncheon, to be held Saturday, November 6, at the Crowne Plaza/Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto. The annual event benefits the Community Association for Rehabilitation.
Four authors will give presentations and be available to sign books: Daniel Handler, Remy Charlip, Karen Joy Fowler and Eric Hansen.
