As the contest for the Menlo Park City Council gets down to the wire, Kelly Fergusson is now top candidate on the fundraising totem pole.

Including the amounts declared on the latest campaign finance forms, which cover the first two weeks of October, Ms. Fergusson has brought in a total of $20,404 during the campaign. Contributions to Lorie Sinnott are up to $14,944.

Michael Lambert has raised $11,419, according to his forms. Andrew Cohen's stated total is $18,544, including a $12,000 non-monetary contribution from a print-shop owner who covered the cost of Mr. Cohen's campaign fliers.

Ms. Fergusson's major supporters include her mother, who has given a total of $700; and Operating Engineers Local 3, District 01, 02, 03, which gave $250. That group represents workers who operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers and cranes, Ms. Fergusson said.

The four are vying for two seats on the council. Council members Paul Collacchi and Chuck Kinney are not running again.
