How can an anonymous tip be used in a case where the informant doesn't testify? A. Information provided by an anonymous tipster or informant is rarely specific to an incident that becomes a crime case. We rely on anonymous tips to investigate possible crimes or crimes in progress. The tips help us develop information that can lead to a case and to possible conviction of criminals.
