Local Brownies gather 403 warm coats
(December 15, 2004) St. Francis Family Center in Redwood City now has 403 warm coats to distribute to patrons, thanks to the efforts of Brownie Troop 1478.
The troop includes second- and third-grade girls from Las Lomitas, Oak Knoll and St. Joseph's schools.
The Brownies conducted their warm coat drive in November, when donors dropped off coats outside Starbucks on the Alameda de las Pulgas in Menlo Park.
Yolanda Canny and Maggie Heilman are Troop 1478 leaders.
