Sing-along 'Messiah,' holiday concert
(December 15, 2004) So you've always wanted to belt out the Hallelujah chorus in a room without tiles and a shower caddy, have you?
Michael Paul Gibson, music director of the Menlo Park Chorus, has the ideal venue for you. On Saturday, December 18, Mr. Gibson will conduct a holiday concert at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Menlo Park that will include a sing-along of four choruses of Handel's "Messiah."
The 7:30 p.m. concert will include the performance of Pergolesi's "Magnificat" as well as sacred and popular seasonal songs. The Silicon Valley Symphony will perform.
There will be a limited number of "Messiah" scores at the door for purchase at $10, or for a $10 deposit if you return it.
Soloists for the "Messiah" will double for the "Magnificat." They are soprano Mary Linduska, alto Karen Ulijohn, tenor Will Hart Meyer, and bass Joseph Wright.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $15, general; and $12 for seniors and students.
Holy Trinity church is at 330 Ravenswood Ave., at Laurel Street, in Menlo Park.
