Trio seeks to prevent Jobs' house tear-down Trio seeks to prevent Jobs' house tear-down (December 15, 2004)

A trio of preservationists will try to get the Woodside Town Council to overturn a decision allowing Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs to tear down the 1926 Daniel C. Jackling mansion.

The council will consider the matter at its Tuesday, December 14, meeting.

Woodside residents Rob Flint and Virginia Gill Andersen, a descendant of the Jacklings, and Florida resident Clotilde Luce, whose family owned the Jackling house in the 1970s, are appealing the Planning Commission's June decision to allow the house to be demolished if no one can be found who is willing to move it off-site.

Mr. Jobs said he wants to build a more modest home for his family in its place on the Mountain Home Road property.

The council meeting starts at 7:30 p.m., and is held at Independence Hall, 2955 Woodside Road. For information, call the town clerk at 851-6790.
