** Marine Corps Reserve Private Joshua G. Nguyen , son of Doantrang C. Nguyen of Menlo Park, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. He is a 2004 graduate of Menlo-Atherton High School.

** Navy Seaman Apprentice Suliana P. Tonga , daughter of Amelia and Sioane L. Tonga of Menlo Park, recently completed eight weeks of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. She is a 2004 graduate of Sequoia High School in Redwood City.
