Palo Alto Soccer Club girls under-16 soccer team (champs of the fall Redwood League U16 Division) is holding tryouts for spring/fall Class 1 play.

The team has European coaching and players from Menlo Park, Atherton, Redwood City and Palo Alto. Candidates must have competitive experience and have a birth date between August 1, 1988, and July 30, 1989.

M-A soccer

The Menlo-Atherton High School boys varsity soccer team defeated Burlingame High 2-0 on January 12. Goals were scored by Charlie Beavis and Spencer Collum. On January 14, M-A lost to Menlo School 3-0 at Menlo. M-A's record is 2-7-3 overall (1-4-2 league). -- Report by Ken Smith.
