** BOYS -- January 30 report: The team won twice this week to extend its winning streak to eight games. It now has a record of 17-5 (8-1 in league play) and is in second place in the PAL South Division. On January 26, the Wildcats crushed Mills on the road, 88-43, behind balanced scoring and a 34-point opening quarter. On January 28, the team rolled over Carlmont away from home, 71-23. Juston Smith scored 19 and Dominic Cruz-Duncan added 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead four players in double figures. This week's games are all at home: February 1 vs. Aragon at 3:15 p.m.; February 2 vs. Capuchino at 3:15 p.m.; February 4 vs. Sequoia at 7:45 p.m. ** GIRLS -- January 30 report: The team won once and lost once this past week to take their record to 14-9 (4-5). It's tied for fifth place in the PAL South Division. On January 26, Woodside lost at home to Mills, 56-24. Jasmine Lewis led the team with 12 points. On January 29, Woodside beat Carlmont on the road, 36-29, behind Courtnei Taylor's 11 points. Arianne Smith added 10 for the Wildcats, who pulled away from a close game in the fourth quarter. This week's games: February 1 at Aragon at 3:15 p.m.; February 2 at Capuchino at 3:15 p.m.; February 4 vs. Sequoia at 6:15 p.m.

M-A basketball

** BOYS -- January 30 report: The team won once and lost once this past week, to take its record to 10-9 (5-4). It's in fifth place in the PAL South Division. On January 26, M-A beat Hillsdale at home, 53-43. Gorjan Hrustanovic had 15 points, and Chris Dallmar contributed 12 for the team, which had to play shorthanded when star forward Dan Trautman injured his ankle in the first quarter. On January 28, the Bears lost at Sequoia, 48-40. Carson Finkle paced M-A with 22 points. This week's games: February 1 at Burlingame at 3:15 p.m.; February 2 vs. Mills at 3:15 p.m.; February 4 vs. Carlmont at 7:45 p.m. ** GIRLS -- January 30 report: The team lost once and won once this past week to bring its record to 11-10 (3-6), good for seventh place in the PAL South Division. On January 26, the squad garnered a key road win, routing Hillsdale, 65-27. Ariel Winawer scored 14 points for the Bears, while Brittany Wilson and Sigourney Jellins added 12 and 9 points, respectively. On January 28, the team lost at Sequoia, 56-34. Wilson led M-A with 11 points. This week's games: February 1 vs. Burlingame at 3:15 p.m.; February 2 at Mills at 3:15 p.m.; February 4 vs. Carlmont at 6:15 p.m.
