Menlo jewelry store robbed Menlo jewelry store robbed (February 02, 2005)

Enterprising thieves entered a Menlo Park jewelry shop through a wall from an adjoining shop last week and got away with an undisclosed amount of property.

The Jeweler -- located at 781 Santa Cruz Avenue -- was robbed Wednesday, January 26, said Sgt. Mike Amaral of the Menlo Park Police Department. The police investigation team is not releasing information on the incident, Sgt. Amaral told the Almanac.

A store manager -- who said she had been advised by police not to talk with the media -- would confirm only that the thieves had broken through a wall to get into the store.

The online crime log prepared by the Menlo Park police indicates an audible alarm going off around 9 p.m. that evening. Police found that the back doors of both businesses had been forced open, the report said.
