Portola planners could rule on Priory plans this week
(February 02, 2005) The Portola Valley Planning Commission may vote this week to approve expansion plans proposed by the Woodside Priory School.
The commission will meet at 8 p.m. February 2 in the Historic Schoolhouse. This is likely to be one of the last opportunities for neighbors and parents to comment before the commission makes its decision.
The private Benedictine middle and high school is seeking to amend its conditional use permit -- last amended in 1969 -- to reflect its current student population and to add several new structures, including a 400-seat performing arts center, a fitness center, classrooms, offices and housing.
In response to commission concerns, the school has revised its plans to include sharing the school's athletic facilities with town residents and proposing a drainage plan that would further protect Corte Madera Creek.
Planning Commission decisions may be appealed to the Town Council.
