Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before December 2, 2005, and live in the Las Lomitas School District, may begin registering their children for kindergarten Monday, January 31. Kindergarten starts in the fall at Las Lomitas School.

The Las Lomitas district includes portions of Menlo Park, Atherton and Woodside, as well as unincorporated areas along the Alameda de las Pulgas and Alpine Road, and the community of Ladera.

For registration, parents must bring an original utility bill as proof of residence, plus verification of the child's birth date. Also required is proof of immunization against polio, measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, rubella, mumps, chicken pox, and three doses of hepatitis B. A physical examination is also recommended.

Parents of kindergartners can arrange for a school tour by calling 854-5900. The school is located at 299 Alameda de las Pulgas in Atherton, and the office is open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. The school's Web site can be found at llesd.k12.ca.us.
