A raise for sanitary district board? A raise for sanitary district board? (February 09, 2005)

Members of the West Bay Sanitary District board want to take home a few more bucks.

Now the five men who run the local public agency take home $128.82 for each of two meetings they attend every month.

The board will hold a public hearing on a 5 percent pay raise Monday, February 14, at 7 p.m. at district headquarters at 500 Laurel St. in Menlo Park. If board members vote themselves the raise, they will each take home $135.26 for each meeting.

Under the proposed new salary regulation, board members will not be able to earn money for more than six days each month. So their maximum monthly pay will rise from $772.92 to $811.56.
