Children helping children
(February 23, 2005) Caption with photo in print edition: Menlo School seventh-graders, from left, Lea Eaton, Nicole Wemple and Anjali Ranadive have raised $4,000 for the Save the Children Tsunami Relief Fund by selling wristbands to friends and family and on eBay. Anjali came up with the idea of selling the bands as a way to help children affected by the disaster. She went online and found a Web site that offered customized wristbands. Her design included the color purple and the word "Survive." The wristbands sell for $5 each.
