Friday, March 18, is the deadline to nominate school volunteers for the Portola Valley PTA's Founder's Day service award. Candidates are sought who contribute "above and beyond" to young people in the Portola Valley community.

Nominations from the Portola Valley community should be submitted in writing or e-mail to foundersday@pvsd.net, or dropped off in the Founder's Day box in the Ormondale or Corte Madera school office, said Sandy Lee, PTA co-president.

Information should include the nominee's name, the reasons she or he should receive the award, and the nominator's name, e-mail and phone. A nomination form is posted on the district's Web site at www.pvsd.net.

The awards will be presented at the PTA Founder's Day event on Thursday, May 5, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
