Bach concerts in Portola Valley Bach concerts in Portola Valley (March 09, 2005)

The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra is presenting its 21st annual Bach Celebration at Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley during March.

A core ensemble of PACO's young musicians and alumni will perform with guest professionals at the remaining concert dates on two Sundays, March 13 and 20, at 7:30 p.m.

The orchestra, made up of musicians chosen by competitive audition from Bay Area high schools, will play pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach in celebration of his 320th birthday.

Jonathan Salzedo, founder and director of the Albany Consort, conducts the March 13 concert.

The March 20 concert will focus on music for the violin and viola and be led by chamber orchestra music director Benjamin Simon. Guest musicians include Stacey Pelinka on the flute, and Evan Jeng and Felicia Moye on the violin.

Valley Presbyterian Church is located at 945 Portola Road.

Tickets for individual concerts are $12 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets can be ordered in advance.
