Man drowns in Woodside pool Man drowns in Woodside pool (March 16, 2005)

The San Mateo County Coroner's Office has ruled out foul play in the drowning of a man working on a Woodside property last week.

Transito Choy, 24, of San Mateo was discovered on the bottom of a swimming pool in the 100 block of Lakeview Drive by a co-worker at about 4 p.m. on March 10, said Capt. Don O'Keefe of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

A co-worker said that Mr. Choy decided to go swimming, and when he noticed that Mr. Choy had been gone for about half an hour, he went looking for him.

Sheriff's deputies and paramedics with the Woodside Fire Protection District were unsuccessful in their attempts to revive him.

Toxicology reports are still pending, but the preliminary autopsy results found the cause of death to be drowning, which would rule out foul play, said a spokesman for the coroner.
