Book fair at La Entrada School
(March 16, 2005) La Entrada School is holding a book fair in its multi-use room starting Friday, March 18, and continuing the following week through Thursday, March 24.
A selection of books from Hicklebee's Book Store will be available at the fair. Children will also have a chance to meet children's literacy advocate and educator Walter the Giant.
Three meet-the-author events are planned, all beginning at 11:20 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m.. Paper airplane designer John M. Collins, who wrote "The Gliding Flight," will meet with kids Tuesday, March 22.
Next is Jeanne DuPrau, author of the adventure story, "The City of Ember," who will visit the school Wednesday, March 23.
On Thursday, March 24, Douglas Rees, the author of "Smoking Mirror: An Encounter with Paul Gauguin," will be on hand.
The school is located at 2200 Sharon Road in Menlo Park. Hours of the fair are Friday, March 18, until 4 p.m., restarting at 7:45 a.m. on the first four days of the following week, with hours until 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, March 21 and 23; until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22; and closing at 3:30 p.m. March 24.
