Caption with photo in print edition: Matt Fitzgerald, an eighth-grader at Hillview School in Menlo Park, gets ready to throw out the first ball at the San Francisco Giants game with the Colorado Rockies on April 8. Matt plays tenor sax in the middle school's jazz band, which played "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch. Another Hillview student, JJ McGhee, announced the lineup for one of the innings. A ninth-inning home run by Marcus Grissom gave the Giants a come-from-behind 10-8 win. Hillview's "Family Night" at the Giants helped raise funds for the Menlo Park district's music program.
