Errant hawk now in good hands Errant hawk now in good hands (May 18, 2005)

The following information was published with a photograph in the print edition of the Almanac.

Members of the Menlo Park Police Department joined an "ad hawk" rescue team to save a red-tail hawk that crashed through an upstairs bedroom window of a residence in the 1300 block of Bay Laurel Drive about 4 p.m. Monday, May 9, prompting the resident to call 911. Joining the effort were officers Keith Butler, Burke Bruttig, Stan Szeto and Barbara Ayres. The stunned bird was turned over to the humane society for treatment.
