Live from Menlo Park -- and the BBC

Menlo Park hits the airwaves on Friday, May 20, when a radio station will broadcast live from the British Bankers Club bar at 1090 El Camino Real.

The station 107.7 The BONE will broadcast from noon to 6 p.m. as part of a series of shows at different towns in the Bay Area. The event will include a live band and a prize giveaway.

In addition, people will be able to pay $1.07 to spin a prize wheel, with the proceeds going to the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, radio station officials said.

Feast of Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi Monastery in Menlo Park invites the public to join in a celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 29, will be followed by a procession and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

The Dominican Novice Brothers from St. Dominic's in San Francisco will join the nuns at this special occasion.

The main celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. Kieran Healy, a member of the Western Dominican Province, who is sub-prior at St. Albert's Priory in Oakland. Father Healy recently spent 10 years as a missionary in Kenya, Africa.

At 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, a second Mass will be held at the Church of the Nativity, across the street from the monastery. After Mass, there will be a procession through the grounds of Vallombrosa Retreat Center, with benediction at the chapel of Corpus Christi Monastery at 2 p.m.
