A new badminton facility will officially open its doors this weekend in Menlo Park's M-2 industrial zone east of U.S. 101. The Golden Gate Badminton Club, located at 190 Constitution Drive, is hosting a grand opening starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11.

Club owners Mike Yang and Ben Lee hope for a healthy crowd, and they're offering a special incentive: free drop-in play from June 11 through June 13 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Coaches will be on hand at the opening as well, and may provide some impromptu demonstrations.

The club will offer lessons and summer camp, and its owners aspire to host tournaments as well.
