All the compost you can shovel will be available for free to Menlo Park residents on Saturday, June 18, starting at 9 a.m.

BFI is dropping off a hefty pile of the stuff just inside the entrance to Bayfront Park, near the intersection of Bayfront Expressway and Marsh Road. Residents should bring their own shovels and containers.

The compost comes from recycled yard trimmings from the area.

The event will be postponed for one week if it rains heavily. For more information, call 330-6763.
