(June 15, 2005) Four scouts awarded Eagle Scout rank
Four local member of Boy Scout Troop 222 in Menlo Park will be awarded the Eagle Scout rank at a Court of Honor ceremony Saturday, June 18, at the First Baptist Church in Menlo Park. The four are Jack Reis, Torr Hage, Kyle Mulroe and Matthew Gregory. A story with more information on the scouts will appear in a future issue of the Almanac. Free rowing lessons for teens, adults
Free rowing and sculling lessons will be available on Saturday, June 18, for teenagers and adults during Learn to Row day at Bair Island Aquatic Center, 1450 Maple St. in Redwood City.
Activities will run from 9 a.m. to noon out of a boathouse facility that opens onto the San Francisco Bay. A free barbecue lunch will be served.
Bair Island Aquatic Center is a nonprofit organization that provides rowing classrooms and programs for all skill levels. For information, go to gobair.org.
