Portola Valley: Fencing rules, new senior housing up for Planning Commission review Portola Valley: Fencing rules, new senior housing up for Planning Commission review (June 15, 2005)

Fencing regulations for Portola Valley residences and the construction of five senior housing units and a below-market-rate home on 1.4 acres off Portola Road near Sausal Creek are on the agenda this week for the meeting of the Portola Valley Planning Commission.

The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, in the Historic Schoolhouse at 765 Portola Road.

The proposed fencing regulations address fence locations, types, opacity, color and reflectivity, size, gating and permits for three zoning categories: parcels of less than one acre, parcels of from one to two acres, and parcels of two acres or more.

The commission is expected to approve the regulations and send them on to the Town Council for action.

The discussion of the Sausal Creek subdivision is returning to the commission after completion of an environmental study. The proposal before the commission includes a private road to serve the subdivision, shared parking, and plans for creek bank restoration, according to a memo from the deputy town planner.

The plan will be presented during the public meeting. A copy of the plan is available at Town Hall, also at 765 Portola Road.
