Summer solstice full-moon hike

It's not often you can enjoy the summer solstice and the full moon at the same time. But Acterra is sponsoring a hike to enjoy both on the Arastradero Open Space Preserve, Tuesday, June 21, starting at 7:15 p.m.

Participants can choose between a an easy walk to the lake, a moderate hike to the middle of the preserve for a glimpse of the Bay, or a long (three-hour) hike to the Vista Point for a super view of the Bay by moonlight.

There will be lakeside appetizers, guided hikes, and a presentation by Joe Jordan from NASA on space and stars.

Tickets are on a sliding scale from $25 to $50. Children under 5 are free. The events are appropriate for children over 8, or littler ones in backpacks or jog strollers.

RSVP to Laura Stec at 962-9876, ext. 346; e-mail lauras@acterra.org, or buy tickets online at acterra.org.
