Q. If I am going to have a large party, should I let the police know? A. Absolutely. Just call the station, ask for the watch commander on duty, and give him or her the date and hours of your celebration. The watch commander will forward this information to dispatch; if any complaints come in, the watch commander or dispatcher can then call you directly with any concerns and you can deal with them without a police response.
