Q. Do you think teenagers are more or less respectful than when you were a teenager? A. I think when I was a teenager there was so much more of a mystique to the police than there is today. Today's police officers realize that earning respect is a major factor in maintaining their public image, whereas that respect used to be a given for anyone who wore the badge and gun.
