Kate Mulligan chairs Humane Society board
(July 06, 2005) Kate Mulligan of Menlo Park is the new chairwoman of the board of the Humane Society Silicon Valley.
Newly elected to the board are vice chairman David H. Mack, also of Menlo Park, and secretary Sue Levy of Portola Valley. The third new board member is Warren J. Ligan.
Ms. Mulligan, who holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, recently led the business development team at Becton Dickinson's Immunocytometry Systems Division. Also, she is a board member of the Las Lomitas Education Foundation.
Mr. Mack is a partner with Alta Partners, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm. With a doctorate from the University of Chicago, where he was a Howard Hughes fellow in molecular genetics and cell biology, he has extensive experience in the biotechnology industry.
Ms. Levy has served on the boards of the Peninsula Volunteers and Adolescent Counseling Services. She has a long history as a community volunteer and supporter of health-related services.
