Sacred Heart Preparatory's Class of 2005 received diplomas June 2 after a round of celebrations that included a Mass, honors convocation and the traditional "Alumni Pinning Ceremony," welcoming the graduates into the Sacred Heart Schools Alumni Association.

Commencement began with a procession of trustees, faculty and graduates marching to a stage set up for an outdoor ceremony on the Atherton campus.

Principal Richard Dioli, the master of ceremonies, introduced senior Emma Tisovec, who sang the national anthem. Former Director of Schools Nancy Morris offered the invocation, and Director of Schools Joseph Ciancaglini welcomed the assembled.

Tenley Mochizuki gave the valedictorian's speech, and David McCavitt delivered the salutory address.

Shirley Miller, director of mission advancement for the U.S. Province of the Religious of the Sacred Heart, gave the graduation address, entitled "Let Love Be Your Life for All Eternity."

Dr. Ciancaglini, Mr. Dioli and Board Chair Elizabeth Dunlevie presented the graduates with their diplomas. The ceremony ended with a farewell song, "So Far Away," sung by SHP's Pulse a cappella club.
