Artists sought to 'celebrate the coast'

Are you a Bay Area painter or photographer? Do you love to portray nature? Are you turned on by San Mateo County's incomparable coast?

Three yesses, and the Committee for Green Foothills wants you. The Peninsula environmental group is looking for artists to participate in a juried exhibition to celebrate the coast, on the coast, next fall.

"Nature's Inspirations: Celebrating the Arts" will feature photographs and original landscape paintings by Bay Area artists on Sunday, October 2, at Strawberry Ranch in Half Moon Bay.

Finalists will participate in the exhibition. And someone will win the Jane Gallagher Award and $250 cash prize given to an artist whose work reflects the places, people and organizations that inspire protection of open space.

The entry fee is $15. For a prospectus, visit GreenFoothills.org/Art.
