Drop-off date set for hazardous waste Drop-off date set for hazardous waste (July 06, 2005)

Residents -- who get an appointment and who live in Menlo Park, Redwood City, East Palo Alto, Atherton, Portola Valley or Woodside -- can drop off their hazardous household waste free of charge at a Menlo Park location on Saturday, August 13.

The location will be disclosed to those who make an appointment by calling 363-4718 or visiting www.smhealth.org/hhw/appt.

If appointments run out, residents can choose another city and date.

Appropriate items include paint, thinners, motor oil, batteries, pesticides, herbicides, pool and photo chemicals, drain openers, and cleaning solvents. Business waste, explosives, and infectious and radioactive waste will not be accepted.
