Thirty-two debutantes bow at Peninsula Ball
(July 13, 2005) A 45-year tradition continued recently when 32 young women made their debut at the Peninsula Ball at Palo Alto's Crowne Plaza Cabana.
Dressed in traditional white gowns and long white gloves, the debs carried nosegays of flowers and curtsied as they were presented to friends and family.
Their fathers claimed the first dance, then released them to their escorts.
Sally Howard and Karen Schultz were chairmen of the ball, held June 18. Pamela Goodenough was honorary chairman.
Proceeds from the ball go to the nonprofit Family & Children Services to assist families in crisis in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
The debs are Katherine Augustus, Kristin Bagshaw, Jennifer Berry, Whitney Bliss, Dana Bronfman, Kelly Clendenning, Caroline Connor, Caroline Crandall, Briana Currier, Julia Duncan, Kelley Finch, Yumi Grave, Marla Griesedieck, Maryann Hiller, Haley Horowitz, Emma Huntington, Madeleine Mandich, Alexis Meredith, Elizabeth Pace, Cameron Rehlaender, Regan Riskas, Tamara Rosenkranz, Rosalynn Rudolph, Erica Ruggeri, Amanda Salzman, Sophie Schmidt, Deidra Schwab, Hillary Sinnott, Victoria Tanoury, Katherine Tennis, Jordan Tiffany and Natalie Whelan.
