Portola Valley: Housing plan approved by commission
(July 13, 2005) The Portola Valley Planning Commission has approved plans submitted by Atherton-based Sausal Creek Associates to build a subdivision of five one-story homes for seniors at 846 Portola Road, adjacent to the Village Square shopping center.
There is a 15-day window, from the date of the commission's action on
July 6, to appeal the decision to the Town Council. The council's next
meeting is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in the Historic Schoolhouse.
The subdivision's approval process began about nine years ago. It has taken this long to address severe creek bank erosion that occurred during the El Nino winter of 1997, when Sausal Creek cut through the back of the 1.4-acre property and required major creek bank strengthening.
