Free Alzheimer's education program at Little House Free Alzheimer's education program at Little House (July 13, 2005)

Nurse practitioner Lee Mayer will present a free Alzheimer's disease education program at Peninsula Volunteers Little House in Menlo Park on Wednesday, July 13, at 2 p.m.

The program is open to the public, and is designed for families of Alzheimer's patients; caregivers; senior center members and adult day-care clients and their families; and health-care professionals.

Ms. Mayer will provide information on memory loss and aging; early warning signs of Alzheimer's disease; diagnosis and treatment options for the disease; caregiver challenges; and resources for families.

The presentation is part of the "Family and Caregiver Conversations" program sponsored by the National Council on Aging and Ortho-McNeil Neurologics; the program is being presented at senior centers across the country, according to Wendy Lewis-Rakova of Little House.

Refreshments will be served.
