Aboriginal art Aboriginal art (August 10, 2005)

Caption with pictures in print edition: From the sunburned land of Australia comes an exhibit of contemporary aboriginal art, including this painting -- Big Hill Country at Doon Doon -- by Tommy Carroll. Former Woodside resident Keith Nicholls of walkaboutgalleryus.com says the "dot painting" technique is 34 years old and done by artists, many of whom are women, from the Kimberley region and Australia's outback. Aboriginal paintings will be on display through Sunday, August 21, at Art21 at the corner of Alma and Hamilton streets in Palo Alto.
